.: Engine

.: The Stanley Steam Engine
Doble built some
impressive
engines, but they're awfully complex. Because I'm doing this on a
shoestring, and I intend to make the engine from scratch, I intend to
use the Stanely design. It's slightly less efficient, but
won't
be nearly the time consuming task that making a Doble engine.
Why
do I want to make the engine from scratch and not simply buy one (since
they occasionally show up on eBay)? Simple: The
original
engines are made from iron and steel. Aluminum is lightweight
and
easy to machine, so I should be able to make an engine just as good as
the original Stanley while weighing considerably less.

Thank
you
for
paying attention this far. The site's always under construction, so
check back often for updates (click "Latest News" to read my blog). I
apologize if it seems like nothing ever changes, but I am not
a web designer, and unless I can get someone to volunteer to take over
handling the website, its going to take me a while to make big changes
to this site.
